Why start in grades 5–8?
Kicking is a skill, not a size. A clean motion is far easier to build at 11 than to rebuild at 16.
- Good mechanics stick early. Young athletes are still learning how they move.
- No recruiting pressure. The goal right now is skill and confidence.
- Every team needs a kicker. A 7th grader who can make an extra point gets on the field.
Soccer and Pop Warner players

Most of our kickers and punters started in Pop Warner or club soccer. This program is built for them.
Soccer players already have the leg. A football kick is a different motion, and the right coaching closes that gap fast. No need to give up soccer.
Pop Warner kickers, punters & long snappers are valued. An extra point is worth 2 points in most youth leagues, punting wins the field-position battle, and good snappers are so scarce, even in high school, that colleges compete for them.
What a youth event looks like
90 minutes to 2 hours, in small groups so every athlete gets reps and feedback. No experience needed. Parents are encouraged to stay.

- Warm-up: movement games for balance and coordination
- Fundamentals: approach, plant foot and contact
- Stations: kicking, punting and long snapping
- Challenge round: beat their own last score for distance and accuracy
- Wrap-up with parents: what we worked on and what to practice at home
What to bring: football or soccer cleats, water, athletic clothes, and a youth football if you have one (team ball is perfect).
Before your first event: sign the 4DU participant waiver (about 3 minutes, on file for 12 months).
How we measure progress
A baseline at the first event, a retest at every event after, and a progress card parents can see. Until athletes have the ball speed for TrackMan, we track:
The TrackMan-ready milestone. Once an athlete's ball speed is high enough for TrackMan to read, they earn their first TrackMan session: the step into 4DU's high school training.
Who runs it
Next Gen is taught with the same system behind 150+ college scholarships, by the coaches who built it and live it.
Founder
Coach Lundy
- Coaching since 2004
- 150+ scholarships
- Creator of Kickometry
Since 2004, Coach Lundy has built kickers, punters and long snappers one repeatable rep at a time. That work became Kickometry, and it has sent athletes like Cairo Santos (Lou Groza Award, Tulane, 2012) to college and beyond.
Director, 4DU Florida
Coach Harrison
- 5+ years under Coach Lundy
- Joined 4DU in 2026
Coach Harrison learned the system as an athlete, training with Coach Lundy for more than five years before joining 4DU as a summer intern in 2026. Now he teaches it to the next generation: detailed technique made simple, with a focus on confidence, discipline, accountability and a love for the game.
